San Francisco, March 2003

Very short trip (Wed through Sun) with Carter Clements to San Francisco, and I did not take that many photographs. In fact, it's
kind of pitiful that I only really took 4 photos.

Flew into Oakland (never do that, go ahead and pay the price to fly into SFO). Stayed at the Hotel Monaco near Union Square.

Wednesday
Lunch: First Crush a few blocks from hotel. Don't waste your time.
Dinner: First, drinks and an early show by Wilson Hardcastle's friend Adina at Mecca then a short walk up marker to
2223 Restaurant & Bar which is a good, smaller, relatively casual place.

Thursday
Breakfast: Max's (breakfast/lunch) at 398 Geary St. had very good food, iffy service on one occasion.
Lunch: Fuzio "Universal Pasta" in on Castro, good for lunch and casual late night dinner.
Drinks: Martuni's bar at 4 Valencia Street at corner of Market between Union Square and Castro. One block from Zuni Cafe.
Dinner: Zuni Cafe on Market. Great food, people, and atmospehre.

Friday
Breakfast: Sears Fine Foods well known for 18 small Belgium pancakes. Well worth the trip.
Lunch: Burger at Harvey's on Castro.
Show: Beach Blanket Babylon Very clever musical review/comedy - hard to describe. I highly recommend this.
Dinner: Rose Pistola good Italian/pasta medium to light fare. Very crowded, not far from the theater.

Saturday
Dinner: Home Restaurant with Wilson Hardcastle, et. al. Good crowd, hearty home-style food, r at least as home-style as you can get
in California.

My attempt at a panoramic image from Alcatraz from Bay Bridge to Golden Gate. Not very good exposure quality.

Carter Clements at Alcatraz. Little does he know that he's about to get ill on the boat ride back to Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco...

Ah, the lovely boat ride back to Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco... Carter's space is being invaded and he's getting a little green around the gills.
